Day 1: Algiers – Djanet

Upon arrival at Algiers Airport, you will be transferred to the domestic terminal for your flight to Djanet.
In Djanet, you will be warmly welcomed and escorted to a luxurious fixed campsite, where you will spend your first night in the peaceful desert surroundings.

Day 2: Discovering the Iherir Oasis

We set off to explore the golden dunes, making our way to the Iherir Oasis, a true gem in the heart of the desert. This exceptional UNESCO World Heritage site is a unique biosphere reserve, featuring lush landscapes with streams and gueltas. After a day of exploration in this verdant valley, we return to Djanet for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Hiking in the Essendilène Canyon

The day begins with a hike through the Essendilène Canyon, where oleanders create natural tunnels along the trail. This enchanting landscape leads to the emerald guelta, a serene natural pool nestled among majestic rocks. The vibrant colors and tranquil ambiance of the site make for an unforgettable experience. At the end of the day, we return to Djanet for dinner, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Exploring Tikoubaouine

We venture to Tikoubaouine, famed for its breathtaking rock formations and ancient rock paintings. A sandstone arch shaped like an elephant stands proudly, a striking testament to millennia of natural erosion. This iconic site in the Tassili n’Ajjer region showcases landscapes that inspire awe and wonder. In the evening, we return to Djanet for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: The Erg Admer

We journey to the vast expanse of the Erg Admer dunes, among the largest Saharan dune systems. At the site of Tegharghart, we encounter an iconic masterpiece: “The Crying Cow,” a Neolithic engraving dating back 7,000 years. This remarkable work reveals the emotion and finesse of the region’s earliest inhabitants. After this unique experience, we return to Djanet for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Exploring Adaik, the Little Sefar

We traverse a stone forest, where the interplay of light and shadow sculpts astonishing forms. At the site of Adaik, also known as the Little Sefar, breathtaking panoramas unfold, culminating in a memorable sunset. As night descends, the desert sky transforms into a dazzling canvas of stars. We then return to Djanet for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Visiting Djanet

The day is dedicated to exploring Djanet, the cradle of Tuareg culture. We visit the old town and its local market, where colorful stalls highlight Tuareg craftsmanship: textiles, jewelry, and artworks reflecting the rich cultural heritage of this region. Return to the hotel for dinner and a final overnight stay in Djanet.

Day 8: Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight home.
