Historical Algeria and it's amazing dunes and deserts
With Algeria Dmc you will know Algeria in an authentic way.
In this tour Antic Algeria, Oasis and Desert you will retrace the passage of the Romans, while admiring archaeological sites classified by UNESCO.
You will immerse yourself in the depths of the deserts and its Oasis, as well as retrace the history of the main cities of Algeria.
Program
Day 1 : Algiers
We will start welcome you and assisting you at Algiers airport.
Then we will go to the hotel and have diner in the city center.
Day 2 : Algiers
In the morning, we will visit the Casbah starting with the Dey Palace and the Ketchoua mosque.
Then, we will have lunch in the fishery district and have a city tour in the district of Bab El Oued, the Zighoud Youcef Boulevard.
We will continue with the Opera, the Emir Abdelkader square and the Grande poste. After that we will visit the Bardot museum and the antiquities museum.
We will finish the day with the Basilica Notre Dame d’Afrique, and have a dinner in a Casbah’s restaurant.
Day 3 : Djemila – El Kantara - Batna
Today we will head towards Djemila (130 km). Once we arrive, we will have lunch.
We will devote the afternoon visiting the archaeological park of “Djemila”, classified by UNESCO.
After that, we will hit the road towards Batna (140 km) and install at the hotel.
Day 4 : Timgad – Constantine
We will discover another amazing UNESCO site: the city of Timgad. The Roman city that was named Thamugadi in ancient times, founded by Emperor Trajan.
Then, we will go towards Constantine (110 km).
Once we arrive, we will visit the Bey Palace and the Cirta museum.
Day 5 : Constantine – Ghardaïa
Exiting morning, visiting the famous suspended bridges of Constantine above the Rhummel Gorges. Next, we will continue with the monument to the Death and the beautiful Abdelkader mosque.
We will take a Flight from Constantine to Ghardaïa.
Once we arrive, we will pass to the guest house, located in Beni Izguen’s palm grove.
And we will finish the day by visiting this Oasis and have a traditional diner.
Day 6 : Ghardaïa
Today we will walk by the traditional Ghardaïa’s market.
We will discover how surprising was the irrigation system of the city.
Then, we will continue with the visit of the city Beni Izguen, where we will walk by the auction market and the Boulila tower.
Day 7 : Ghardaïa – Timimoun
We will discover different landscapes with 8 hours drive, heading towards Timimoun.

At the end of the day, we will arrive and install in the Guest house.
Day 8 : Timimoun - Taghit
First we will visit the local market and Timimoun’s museum.
And we will continue our journey towards Taghit having some stops to enjoy the views.
We will arrive at night and install in the Guest house.
Day 9 : Taghit
To begin the day, we will visit of the old Ksar along the narrow alleys and with its mud houses.
After that, we will enjoy a traditional lunch, and prepare to explore the imposing dunes of the Grand Erg desert and cave paintings.
Day 10 : Taghit – Bechar – Oran
Free morning before the transfer at Bechar’s airport.
We will have a flight from Bechar to Oran.
After the installation at the hotel, we will have a city tour.
We will walk by the city hall, the theater, and the seafront.
The day will finish with a traditional diner in a local restaurant.
Day 11 : Oran
To start the day, we will visit the Fort of Santa Cruz on the heights of the city.
We will continue with the visit of the Chapel of Our Lady of Santa Cruz, built in 1849.
In the afternoon, we will visit the old town: the Sidi el Houari district.
Discoving the Bey Palace, the Pasha Mosque, and its famous octagonal minaret with typically Arab-Andalusian architecture.
Finally we will have diner in a restaurant.
Day 12 : Oran – Tipaza – Djanet
First, we will head towards Tipaza by road, once we arrive we will have a fish lunch.
Then we will have an exiting afternoon visiting the antic site of Tipaza and its museum, classified by UNESCO. We will go to the tomb of the Christian women and have a transfer to the Algiers airport direction Djanet.
End of the day in the Guest House in Djanet.
Day 13 : Tassili
To start with the day, we will have an early departure in 4×4. For the extraordinary discover of different landscapes: desert mountains, canyons, rock arches, huge sand dunes and cave paintings. We will admire cave paintings representing cattle, giraffes and human beings.
We will pursue to In-Djarena, circuit between wadis and canyons, great lesson in history and rock art with engravings by In Ahahar (giraffes and elephants).
At the end of the day, we will go to the camp Moula Naga, have dinner and stay in the Bivouac.
Day 14 : Tassili
4×4 day heading towards Oaun Zouatane. We will cross the dunes of Moula Naga in an exceptional dune setting.
Then, installation in the bivouac.
Day 15 : Tassili
On the way to Tin Merzouga, we will discover the magic of the Tadrat,and its majestic dunes with changing colors. We will also admire stranded rocks like vessels or castles.
We will head along Oued Eghergher, the dunes of Erg Admer. And admire the famous rock engraving “the crying cow“.
Finally, we will return to Djanet for take a shower, rest and have a special dinner with a group from the region.
Day 16 : Djanet – Algiers
We will finish our trip by flying from Djanet to Algiers.
