Day 1 : Algiers
Departure and flight to Algiers.
Upon arrival, you will be assisted and transferred to your hotel, with a stop in the hills overlooking the city to visit the Makam Echahid (Martyrs’ Memorial). This monument, erected in the early 1980s, commemorates the Algerian fighters who fell for the liberation of the country and symbolizes the three revolutions. Check in to the 4-star Hotel Ralf. Enjoy a walking tour of Algiers’ central boulevards to soak up the city’s atmosphere: Michelet Boulevard, Isly Boulevard, the Grande Poste (Central Post Office), the Forum, the Floral Clock, and the Sacré-Coeur Church.
Dinner in the city, return to the hotel for the night.
Day 2 : Algiers / Casbah
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for a tour of the Casbah, starting with the Citadel and the Centenary House. Then, a walk through the Casbah’s narrow streets, stopping to visit traditional houses and terraces with panoramic views of the Bay of Algiers, followed by tea and traditional pastries. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the seafront boulevard and the National Theatre, then the lively Bab El Oued district. Conclude with a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of Africa, an architectural gem that dominates Algiers from east to west.
Dinner in the city. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3 : Algiers / Tiaret
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Tiaret via Thénia El Had and Tissemsilt, « The Charms of the Ouarsenis, » where you will discover a wild and unspoiled natural environment. A third of Tissemsilt’s land is made up of hills and mountain peaks. Arrival in Tiaret and lunch in town. Visit to the Chaouchoua horse breeding center, established in 1874. It is considered one of the most important centers for the production of various horse breeds in the country.
Dinner in town. Check-in at the 4-star Hotel Mélasse or similar.
Day 4 : Tiaret / Brezina
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Brezina, a majestic oasis nestled in the foothills of the Sahara. Often nicknamed the “Algerian Arizona” for its wild landscapes and striking topography, its canyons are reminiscent of the arid lands of the American West. Between its rock formations and vast expanses, Brezina invites nature lovers to a unique exploration.
Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay in a bivouac with equipped tents.
Day 05 : Brezina / Timimoun
Breakfast at the hotel.
Early departure for Timimoun. This route boasts numerous tourist, cultural, and religious monuments, the most important of which are the rock engravings (giant scorpion of Arbaouet), the palm groves, and the zawiyas (Zaouia el Cheikhiya of El Abiodh Sidi Cheikh). Picnic lunch on the dunes of the great desert, then we cross the Grand Erg Occidental: a magnificent landscape with an ocean of sand stretching as far as the eye can see. Arrival in Timimoun, dinner at a guesthouse.
Check-in and overnight stay at the Djenane Ahyd Hotel or similar.
Day 06: Timimoun
Breakfast at the hotel.
Walking tour of the old town, the mosque, the market, and local crafts. Then, discover one of the most beautiful sites in the Gourara region with a visit to the cave, the cliffs, the ksar (fortified village), Ighzer, the Ouled Saïd oasis and its famous foggara (traditional irrigation system), Kalil and its pottery workshops, and then Aghlad with its ksours (fortified villages) built from black clay. Picnic lunch in the heart of nature. Continue towards the ocean of dunes at Tazliza and its famous « Nekhlet ennoss » (a single palm tree planted in the middle of the dunes). Trek to the sebkha (salt flat) to pick desert roses.
Dinner in a kheima (traditional tent), return and overnight stay in Djenane Ahid or a similar hotel.
Day 7: Timimoun / El Goléa
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for El Goléa. Visit to the Palace of Princess Zenete, overlooking the city of a hundred thousand palm trees, the Church of Saint Joseph, and the tomb of Charles de Foucauld. Lunch at a guesthouse. Departure for the salt lake of the oasis, discovery of the migratory bird sanctuary. Sunset viewing with tea.
Check-in at the Hotel El Bousten or similar, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: El Goléa / Ghardaïa
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Ghardaïa, arrival in the M’zab Valley and check-in at the hotel. Lunch in town. In the afternoon, visit the old town of Ghardaïa, the Palmeraie gardens, and the water distribution system. The M’zab Valley is also famous for its numerous hydraulic structures, dams, underground galleries, and wells.
Dinner at a guesthouse, return to the hotel for the night.
Day 9: Ghardaïa / Beni Izguen
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit Ghardaïa and the M’zab Valley, famous for its architecture that has inspired architects such as André Ravereau, Frank Lloyd Wright, Pouillon, Ricardo Bofill, and Le Corbusier. Visit the mosque and a traditional Mozabite house. Lunch in town. In the afternoon, head to the town of Beni Izguen and discover the Auberge de la Criée (Cash Market). A unique and ancient market where locals come to sell their unwanted goods.
Dinner at a guesthouse. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 10: Ghardaïa / Bou Saâda
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Bou Saâda via the famous Trans-Saharan Highway to the oasis of Laghouat, nicknamed « the city of gardens. » Continue to Djelfa, located at the foot of the Saharan Atlas Mountains. Lunch in town. Then, head to Bou Saâda, famous for its palm grove, medina, and souk. Nicknamed the « City of Happiness, » this city is the northernmost of the oases and the closest to the Algerian coast.
Dinner at a restaurant. Check-in and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Bou Saâda / Algiers
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit to the town of Bou Saâda. Then, drive to the Ferrero Mill waterfall, the Etienne Dinet Museum, Fort Cavaignac, and the Abdellah Ibn Messaoud Mosque. Lunch in town. In the afternoon, drive to Algiers. Dinner at a restaurant.

Day 12: Algiers / Tipaza
Breakfast at the hotel.
Head to Cherchell, visit the museum and the aqueduct, then depart for Tipaza. Lunch in Tipaza. Afterwards, visit the ancient city, the theater, the circus, and the baths, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It contains numerous Punic, Roman, Christian, and African remains. Don’t miss the Albert Camus memorial. On the way back, visit the Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania.
Dinner at a restaurant in Algiers. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 13: Visits and return flight
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit to the National Museum of Fine Arts. The museum boasts no fewer than 8,000 works, including paintings by great Dutch and French masters such as Brugghen, Renoir, Monet, Matisse, Delacroix, Van Goyen, Gauguin, and Pissarro. Lunch at the Jardin d’Essai (Botanical Garden).
Visit to the Jardin d’Essai. Created in 1832, its southwest wing houses the French Garden, while its southeast wing is occupied by the English Garden. Afterwards, transfer to the airport for your return flight to France.
